In the polyurethane rigid foam raw material system, the isocyanate component is commonly known as polyurethane black material; it is a mixture of isocyanate with a certain amount of high functionality and diphenylmethane diisocyanate (MDI), with a functionality of about 2.6 to 2.7. It is a dark brown liquid at room temperature and has a higher viscosity than polyurethane white material (combined polyether). After the polyurethane black material and the white material are mixed in proportion, a polymerization reaction occurs to form a polyurethane rigid foam plastic with an independent closed-cell structure. It is an ideal organic low-temperature thermal insulation material with low thermal conductivity, energy saving and shockproof, and strong adaptability. It can be prefabricated or cast on site by spraying. It is widely used in refineries, chemical plants, ethylene chemicals, cold storage, single refrigeration central air conditioners, refrigerators and thermal insulation in the construction industry. With the country's promotion of building energy conservation, polyurethane foam insulation system has been widely used in the domestic insulation field for its good thermal insulation performance, rapid construction, and reliable performance. Polyurethane black material can be widely used in the manufacture of polyurethane rigid foam insulation materials; it can also be used for insulation, waterproofing, sound insulation, and noise reduction in house buildings. Rigid foam board is used for roofs, ceilings, wall panels, and floors. Rigid foam filled hollow bricks are used for walls, and are more suitable for storage tanks, pipeline insulation, oil fields and oil pipelines, urban central heating, and pipeline anti-corrosion and insulation. It is also used for refrigerated trucks, air-conditioned trucks, insulation, and fragile commodity packaging. Due to its unique composition structure, it has good foaming flowability when applied to foam products, and is suitable for the manufacture of products with strict requirements on the flowability of foaming stock solution. It is one of the main raw materials for forming polyurethane rigid foam.
Pure MDI is mainly used to produce slurry, sole stock solution, spandex, TPU and polyurea spraying, etc.
Polymerized MDI is mainly used to produce polyurethane rigid foam and CASE fields. Polyurethane rigid foam is widely used in the insulation industry, such as refrigerators and freezers, solar water heaters, insulation pipes, etc., and can also be used to produce imitation wood furniture, PU boards, etc.
