It is mainly used as the raw material of polyvinyl chloride plasticizer. It is used as a solvent and preservative. Octanol is mainly used to make phthalate esters and aliphatic dibasic acid ester plasticizers such as dioctyl phthalate, dioctyl azelate and dioctyl sebacate, which are used as the main plasticizer and cold-resistant auxiliary plasticizer, defoamer, dispersant, mineral processing agent and petroleum additive for plastics, and also used in printing and dyeing, paint, film, etc. It can be used to produce: dioctyl phthalate (DOP), dioctyl oxalate (DOA), trioctyl trimellitate (TOTM), other plasticizers, octyl acrylate, surfactants, lubricant additives, mining, diesel fuel additives, solvents and preparations, rust inhibitor esters, and other chemicals.
