1. Succinic acid is the main raw material of biodegradable plastic butanediol succinate (PBS).

2. In the food industry, it is used as seasoning agent, sour agent, buffer, etc. The sodium salt of succinic acid can improve the quality of soy sauce, bean paste, liquid seasoning and refined products. It is used as a flavor improver for pickles, ham, fish processing products and so on.

3. In the pharmaceutical industry, sodium succinate has the effect of treating coma, and the ammonium salt of succinate can be used as a sedative and antidote.

4. In agriculture, succinic acid is a plant, which can regulate plant growth, regulate nutrients, and increase the ability of drought resistance, disease resistance and frost resistance. It can also be used as an additive for herbicides.

5. Succinic acid is also an intermediate in the synthesis of photographic chemicals.

6. Succinic acid derivative is a good surfactant and a component of descaling agent, soap and demulsifier.

7. Succinic acid can produce hair remover, toothpaste and cleaning agent.
